What would Life Be Like In The Future

With such fast-paced technology and machine capabilities growing day by day, it’s hard to tell what the future holds for us. While there are plenty of theories out there the most common proposition has to be the Robot theory.

This theory states that Robots integrated with AI will surround us in the years to come. They will overtake, supervise and perhaps even dominate as well as control human beings. While only being a theory, it is definitely intriguing how robots around the world are taking over the jobs that would be carried out traditionally by a human.

A study conducted in 2019 by the group Observer concluded that by this decade 200,000 workers will be replaced by robots in the banking industry alone.

While most machines have already taken over the manufacturing industry. Humans are still required to supervise it in case of a malfunction of any sort yet most presume that by the next couple of years a new line of machinery will be built that won’t demand supervision risking the absence of  human involvement in manufacturing completely.

Fields like medicine where human error could potentially cost a life will be taken over by technology. Other fields like labour could also become a target for machines since capability isn’t restricted by human weaknesses such as water, food and the need for rest.

Cashier work could also be affected by the development of robots. Some can also argue that the future might not even have physical stores seeing that they won’t be of use no more since all mediums of purchase and transactions would happen online.

Now that we have established professions automation could possibly dominate in. Let’s see professions that the robots cannot take over and why so.

The first profession would obviously be anything to do with mental health and social work. Humans can understand other humans or at least have the capability to unlike our machine counterparts. Jobs like therapy would still require human beings in charge of the operation due to the machine’s lack of emotion. Although it could be said that with AI backing these robots they might just learn more about human emotion than any other human could. AI encourages the system to constantly learn and improve based on the learning.

So mental health might also be a target for the robots but there is one profession that can certainly not be taken over by robots. Any guesses?

It’s Entertainment specifically speaking Sports Entertainment. People don’t like to see a predictable or one sided showdown. People also like viewing a nice underdog story. What would you consider an interesting match, a extremely talented team that’s already got the upper hand from the get go or equal teams with relatively equal scores? Obviously the latter right.

Robots are designed to achieve a particular goal that goal in this case being to win meaning that the process wouldn’t be as exciting to watch.

There you have it, now you have an idea of what the future might hold for us. Have any crazy theories of your very own, comment them down below because I would love to hear them.
